Terms & Conditions

These terms govern sales made by Art Haven Studio through arthavenstudio.net. Prices are in USD.

1. What you are buying.
Every item on this site is a design that we paint to order. You are commissioning a new, individually hand-painted work, not buying an existing object. We hold no stock and nothing is painted before it is ordered.

2. Hand-painted variation.
Hand-painted to order. Each piece is individually painted by our Thanjavur artists, so the artwork you receive may not be 100% identical to the image shown. Slight variation in detail, shade and foil work is the nature of handmade art — and it means your piece is one of a kind. The images on this site show the design, not the individual piece you will receive, because your piece does not exist when you order it. Variation in detail, shade and foil work is inherent to the method and is not a defect.

3. Lead time.
Painted to order in 3–5 days, then shipped. Framing and shipping follow. Transit time depends on the destination and on customs, and is outside our control. Lead times are estimates given in good faith, not guarantees of a delivery date.

4. Price and payment.
The price shown is the painting plus the frame you select. Shipping is calculated at checkout from the framed weight of your piece. Payment is taken in full at checkout; the order is the instruction to begin painting.

5. Cancellation.
Free before work begins, not after. The Cancellation Policy forms part of these terms.

6. Returns.
Made-to-order work is not returnable for change of mind. Damage in transit and incorrect items are covered by the Returns & Refunds policy, which forms part of these terms.

7. Import duty.
We ship from India. Import duty, VAT and customs charges are payable by the recipient.

8. Intellectual property.
The designs, photographs and text on this site belong to the studio. Buying a painting does not transfer any right to reproduce the design.
