A frontal head study on deep red — gilded headplate, painted brow and tusks tipped in foil. Small, and the most graphic piece in the subject. Painted on seasoned board in the traditional Thanjavur method: the ornament is built up in gesso relief and finished with gold-toned foil over the raised work. Framed in the frame you choose and shipped crated and insured.

Hand-painted to order. Each piece is individually painted by our Thanjavur artists, so the artwork you receive may not be 100% identical to the image shown. Slight variation in detail, shade and foil work is the nature of handmade art — and it means your piece is one of a kind.
