A bride on the decorated swing of the oonjal ceremony, marigold garlands in relief. The couple are swung gently while the women of both families sing.
Painted on seasoned board in the traditional Thanjavur method: the ornament is built up in gesso relief and finished with gold-toned foil over the raised work. Framed in the frame you choose and shipped crated and insured.
Hand-painted to order. Each piece is individually painted by our Thanjavur artists, so the artwork you receive may not be 100% identical to the image shown. Slight variation in detail, shade and foil work is the nature of handmade art — and it means your piece is one of a kind.
