A white elephant under a carved arch with a peacock at its feet. Two of the most repeated motifs in the tradition in a single frame. Painted on seasoned board in the traditional Thanjavur method: the ornament is built up in gesso relief and finished with gold-toned foil over the raised work. Framed in the frame you choose and shipped crated and insured.

Hand-painted to order. Each piece is individually painted by our Thanjavur artists, so the artwork you receive may not be 100% identical to the image shown. Slight variation in detail, shade and foil work is the nature of handmade art — and it means your piece is one of a kind.
