Ganesha mid-dance between two carved pillars, one foot lifted and all four hands in motion. The dancing form is rarer than the seated one and harder to paint, because the gesso ornament has to follow a figure that is off its own axis.
Painted on seasoned board in the traditional Thanjavur method: the ornament is built up in gesso relief and finished with gold-toned foil over the raised work. Framed in the frame you choose and shipped crated and insured.
Hand-painted to order. Each piece is individually painted by our Thanjavur artists, so the artwork you receive may not be 100% identical to the image shown. Slight variation in detail, shade and foil work is the nature of handmade art — and it means your piece is one of a kind.
